Global Interdependence and You

On Monday, November 14, the Centre for Global Studies (CfGS) is hosting “Global Interdependence and You: A Centre for Global Studies Symposium.” The event will kick off International Education Week here on campus

The event will run from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. It will start with a two-hour lecture event at the First People’s House. This will be followed by an open house at the Centre for Global Studies. Students, faculty, and staff, as well as the general community are all invited. At the open house, CFGS staff and researchers will be available to discuss their work, as well as potential opportunities to get involved with CFGS. Food and beverage will be provided.

Moving On

Through a combination of circumstances, my almost five-year tenancy in UVic’s University House #4 has come to an end. My status there came through my affiliation with the POLIS Project on Ecological Governance and I am very grateful to POLIS – especially Dr. Kelly Bannister and Dr. Michael M’Gonigle – for their generosity in welcoming me to “live” at POLIS for the past few years. However, their superiors have a new vision for UH4 and it was time to find new accommodations.

Luckily, and thanks to the intervention of my supervisor Dr. Rod Dobell, I have been welcomed as a graduate student research associate with the University’s Centre for Global Studies through the generous support of the Centre’s Executive Director Dr. Gordon Smith. As with most things in my life, I am much luckier than I deserve and am very grateful to not only have excellent facilities in which to continue my research, but it is doubly-nice to be back inside Rig Road after 7 years in exile. All other contact remains the same, but my new mailing, courier and physical address can be found on my contact page.
